Frequently asked questions
How much does a new boiler cost?
Our installations start from £1,650 + VAT for a straightforward like-for-like replacement. Conversions, relocations and larger properties are quoted individually after a survey. See our cost guide for a full breakdown.
How long does installation take?
A straight swap in the same position is usually a single working day. Converting between boiler types or relocating the boiler typically takes two to three days.
How often should a boiler be replaced?
Most gas boilers have an economic life of roughly 10 to 15 years. Beyond that, efficiency drops, parts get harder to source and reliability declines.
Can you replace my boiler with a combi?
Often yes, provided your mains pressure and flow rate are adequate and your hot water demand suits it. If a combi would not serve your household well, we will say so rather than fit one anyway.
Can my boiler be moved?
Usually yes. Relocation means new gas, water and condensate runs plus a new flue route, so it costs more and takes longer than a straight swap. It is quoted after survey.
Do I need new pipework?
Sometimes. The most common reason is an undersized gas supply that will not meet the new appliance’s requirements. We check this at survey and include any necessary work in the quotation.
What boiler is best for my house?
It depends on your bathrooms, hot water demand and mains pressure rather than the size of the house alone. See our guide on choosing the right boiler.
How long does a boiler last?
Commonly 10 to 15 years with annual servicing. Poor system water quality, missed servicing and incorrect original sizing all shorten it.
Do new boilers need servicing?
Yes. Almost all manufacturer warranties require an annual service by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and require you to evidence it. Missing a service can void the warranty.
What happens during installation?
Work areas are protected, the old appliance is removed and disposed of, the new boiler is fitted, the system is cleaned, and everything is tested and commissioned before handover. See our full process.
Will I be without heating and hot water?
Yes, for the duration of the installation. On a single-day swap both are normally restored the same evening.
Do you notify Building Control?
Yes. As Gas Safe registered installers we notify the installation under the Building Regulations and you receive the certificate.
Do you remove the old boiler?
Yes, removal and safe disposal is included in the quotation.
Is making good included?
No. Plastering, tiling, decorating and cosmetic repairs are excluded unless specifically written into your quotation. We say so up front rather than leaving you to discover it.
What areas do you cover?
Bedworth, Nuneaton, Coventry, Rugby, Hinckley, Atherstone, Kenilworth, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Coleshill, Solihull and Tamworth. If you are nearby but not listed, please ask.
