Choosing a new boiler
Most homeowners start by asking which brand to buy. In practice, the decisions that affect your day-to-day experience are the boiler type and its output. Brand comes after that.
Ask yourself how many bathrooms are in use at once, whether anyone runs a bath while a shower is going, and whether your incoming mains pressure is strong. Those answers point to combi, system or regular far more reliably than a price comparison site will.
What a new boiler actually changes
A modern condensing boiler recovers heat from its own flue gases that an older non-condensing appliance simply sent outside. If you are replacing a boiler that is fifteen or twenty years old, the efficiency difference is genuine and you should expect it to show in your gas use.
What a new boiler will not do is fix an old, sludged heating system. If your radiators have cold spots or your system water is black, that needs addressing at the same time. Otherwise the new appliance inherits the problem and its warranty may be affected.
New boiler with existing radiators
In most cases your existing radiators can stay. We check they are correctly sized for the rooms and in sound condition, and we clean the system before the new boiler is commissioned.
Where radiators are heavily corroded, undersized for the room, or the system has no means of removing debris, we will explain what we recommend and why, and price it separately so you can decide.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a new boiler fitted?
New boiler installations start from £1,650 + VAT. The final figure depends on the boiler type and output and how much additional work the installation requires.
Can I keep my existing radiators?
Usually yes. We check they are correctly sized and in good condition, and clean the system before commissioning the new boiler.
How long will my new boiler last?
A well-installed and annually serviced boiler commonly lasts in the region of 10 to 15 years. Skipping servicing shortens that and can invalidate the manufacturer warranty.
Do new boilers need servicing?
Yes. Almost all manufacturer warranties require an annual service by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Missing it can void the warranty.
